Help me build my kitchen!

For someone who has recently gotten into cooking, you can imagine how small their collection of tools, gadgets, and tableware is.  Well, that someone is me!  The first time I moved away from home was for college and I wasn’t into cooking/baking the way I am now, so I left everything behind for my roommate.  And when I moved into a small apartment with my boyfriend over a year ago, we bought most of our kitchenware from Ikea.

Don’t get me wrong — Ikea is great for those on a budget, but the quality of their products are reflected in their prices.  Lately, I’ve been on a TJ Maxx/Home Goods, Ross, & Marshalls kick.  I find name brand items for a fraction of the cost and I leave the store completely elated.

But last night, I went to Target and saw Giada’s line…OMG!  Can someone please buy me everything?  I promise I’ll cook/bake you some goodies!  Check out her LookBook here.

So, where do you get your kitchen tools?!

Recipe: Linguine with Shrimp & Vegetables

It’s been a week since I’ve posted anything.  Forgive me.

I’ve been eating a lot of shrimp lately. So, why not post a recipe that has shrimp in it?!  In Ellie Krieger’s The Food You Crave, she mentions that this is a perfect meal to celebrate Spring.  Well, we’re about three weeks early, but I’m perfectly okay with that.

Recipe: Duncan Hines Yellow Cupcakes + Wilton’s Buttercream Frosting

Sorry I’ve been M.I.A. this week.  Nothing to say except that life gets busy!

I started my cake decorating class last weekend and I’ve already learned so much.  Our instructor owns her own bake shop out in Pungo but primarily makes wedding cakes.  The first thing she says is: “Homemade is great, but I prefer packaged cake mix…more specifically Duncan Hines’ Moist Deluxe Butter Recipe Golden Cake Mix.”

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Meet my hibiscus plant, Eden - still blooming after 5 years <3

Since me and my boyfriend are going to the big apple in 2 weeks for our 5 year anniversary, we decided to stay in, cook, and have a movie marathon.  I’ve been craving a burger, so I made Hackney’s Inside-Out Burger.  I’ve made these before and they were a big hit.
