I’m Ronalyn.  On the internet, I go by RLV.  Mainly because I’ve gotten paranoid about my employers, co-workers (past, present, & future), and random crazies finding me on the web.  Long before Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, & so forth.. I used to blog about my daily adventures for the world to read.  I put my personal life out for the public to see and soon realized that it was a bad idea.  But hey, I was 18 years old and fresh out of high school.  What did I know?

I am trying to break out of that shell though, so bare with me.

For the longest time (and still am), I was a fussy eater.  I only ate at chain restaurants, ordered the same entrée every time, and spent all my money on eating out because I never cooked anything.  I partially blame my parents—now don’t get me wrong, I love them to death, but they are very picky and I know it has a lot to do with our Filipino culture.  Growing up, I had rice with every meal.  Nowadays, I eat rice only once a month.  I never learned how to cook.  My mother always cooked and never asked me or my sister to help.  And she pretty much cooked the same dishes every week:  Adobo, Sinigang, Kare-kare, Mechado, Pancit/Lumpia, and whatever my dad caught after he went fishing.  If you have no idea what these dishes are, learn about them here.

Optimistically in time, I will be able to say I tried everything I never thought I would eat.  I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone because I could be missing out on some really delicious food!  It’s not even a “could be” situation.. I probably am!  I hope you stay tuned as I discover new cuisines, restaurants, cities, and my most favorite part of any meal: desserts.  I have a huge sweet tooth…and chocolate is almost always my remedy.
